<p>This is a three-hour training which is ELIA approved. The training is free but Kentucky PTA does require reimbursement of travel and materials expenses. </p>
<p>This training stresses the importance of parents becoming involved in children's education and supports the value of learning in both home and school. This training will assist every school in Kentucky in becoming family friendly through relations building, effective communications, decision making, advocacy, learning opportunities and community partnerships. A rubric will be used to establish and guage success of family and community involvement in all education processes. <p>Children's Advocacy Day at the Captiol Rally will be held February 18, 2010. This is the date for teams of advocates to come to Frankfort and speak with legislators about issues facing Kentucky's children. In 2009 nearly 400 advocates, speaking on behalf of children and youth, met with legislators and shared concerns on the health, education, and welfare of children in Kentucky. Kentucky PTA will hold an advocacytraining for all interested PTA/PTSA advocates in Frankfort, October 21-22, 2010.</p>
